Meet our pastors

Michael Chu has served at ND since 1992, and he became senior minister in 2000. His main responsibilities are leading the pastoral team, preaching, training and providing spiritual guidance.
Michael studied philosophy, and graduated with a BA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. After working as a high school teacher, Michael became a staff worker of HKFES (Hong Kong Evangelical Fellowship of Students). Then he turned to study, completing a Masters of Divinity at the China Graduate School of Theology followed by a Masters of Art (Theology) at Moore Theological College. Michael is married to Ruth and they have a grown-up daughter, Hannah. He enjoys meeting up with people, and watching YouTube.

Richard joined NDCCCS as a minister in mid-2007. His ministry focus is in Cantonese ministry including worship, fellowship, and caring ministries.
Richard graduated from King's College, University of London with a Bachelor of Theology (Hons) degree in 1994 and attained a graduate diploma of Christian Counseling at Morling College. He is currently studying for his MA (in Ministry) at Morling College.
Richard has ministered different Chinese Churches in Sydney since 1994. Prior to that Richard was working in the construction industry for a few years and has a bachelor degree in Estate Management from the UK.
Richard is married to Grace and they have a daughter and son in high school. He enjoys walking and loves pets.

Arthur joined NDCCCS as pastor in 2010, mainly responsible for evangelism and teaching about God to overseas students and migrants who speak Mandarin. Arthur is also involved in teaching, preaching, training and caring more widely in our church.
He graduated from Morling College with a Bachelor in Ministry. He is now studying in Morling College for a Master in Ministry degree.
Before joining our church, Arthur served as a pastor in other Sydney Chinese churches for a few years. Arthur has also done stage management and lighting design for events and performances. He has also been an editor for a stage equipment magazine.
Arthur and Iris have a daughter. He enjoys tennis, watching movies and reading.

David joined NDCCCS as a Pastor in 2009. His main responsibilities include preaching, teaching, and caring for the English congregation.
David graduated from Morling Theological College with a Master of Divinity degree and Graduate Diploma in Christian Ministries.
Prior to joining NDCCCS, David worked in a consulting firm as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a Bachelor of Building Construction Management (UNSW) and AAIQS.
David is married to Gigi and they have two children, Isaac and Valarie. He enjoys tennis, table tennis, volleyball, swimming and hiking.

Gary joined NDCCCS as a pastor in 2008. His main responsibilities include overseeing the Epping Boys Cantonese Worship and pastoral care to the congregation. He also involves in preaching, teaching and evangelism.
Gary graduated from Morling College with a Master of Divinity. He served in NDCCCS as a student pastor during his theological study. Prior to joining NDCCCS, he worked as a staff of Hong Kong Campus Crusade for Christ, participating in Campus and Praise and Worship Ministry.
Gary is married to Phidias and they have a young daughter Hermine. He enjoys music and sports, e.g. playing badminton and soccer.

Doug joined NDCCCS in 2012, and he is primarily responsible for overseeing Church on the Boundary (COB). His main areas of ministry are in teaching, preaching, training and discipleship.
Doug graduated from Moore Theological College with a Bachelor of Divinity, and during his time there served as a student minister at St Albans Lindfield, St Andrews Cathedral and Wild Street Church Maroubra. Prior to college he spent two years as a ministry trainee both with Wild Street and Campus Bible Study at UNSW.
He grew up in Canberra, spent a year as an exchange student in Germany, completed a Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics in Melbourne and finally ended up in Sydney, working in several hospitals.
He is married to Jayme, who he met while studying at college, and they now have a young son, Elias. Doug likes golf, table tennis, snowboarding, foreign films and books.

Sarah joined NDCCCS as a pastor in 2010. Her main responsibility is women's ministry in the English Congregation.
Sarah completed her Bachelor of Theology at Sydney Missionary and Bible College in 2009. Her studies had a focus on mission and her project was on cross-cultural discipleship.
Prior to theological study Sarah practiced as a pharmacist in community and hospital. She also spent some time in Thailand doing University student ministry.
Sarah is married to Darran. She enjoys many types of craft, watching movies and discovering tasty Asian snack food.
